On Wednesday, the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) accused the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance of deliberately ignoring Maharashtra during discussions on Foxconn's investment plans in India.

NCP national spokesperson Clyde Crasto expressed frustration, tweeting that Maharashtra's exclusion from these important discussions raised questions about its role in India's future opportunities.

Crasto's reaction followed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's tweet about meeting Young Liu, Chairman of Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn). He alleged that the NDA government has consistently neglected Maharashtra.

The Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition, including Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP, and Congress, claimed that the Foxconn-Vedanta semiconductor plant was initially planned for Maharashtra but was diverted to Gujarat ahead of the 2022 state elections.

Subsequently, Foxconn announced its withdrawal from the semiconductor joint venture with Vedanta last year.
