BJP Aims to Dominate 10 By-Election Seats in UP Amid Challenges

The BJP, recovering from a disappointing Lok Sabha election performance, has set its sights on winning all 10 vacant assembly seats in upcoming by-elections in Uttar Pradesh. This move is an attempt to reaffirm its dominance and send a clear signal to the opposition about its sustained political strength.
These seats became vacant after nine MLAs transitioned to MPs, and one MLA from Sishamau faced a conviction. Despite the by-election dates being undetermined due to poor weather conditions, the BJP is vigorously preparing at the grassroots, assigning leaders and ministers to oversee each constituency.
However, political experts warn that the BJP faces formidable challenges, citing recent election results and party infighting. There's skepticism about its ability to secure a clean sweep, with competing factions within the alliance and the state's complex political landscape posing significant hurdles.
