Independent Candidate Kennedy Contemplates Alliance with Trump
Independent U.S. presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is contemplating ending his campaign to ally with Republican Donald Trump. Kennedy's running mate, Nicole Shanahan, expressed concerns about splitting Trump’s voter base and facilitating a Democratic win. Discussions are ongoing about a potential unity party.
Independent U.S. presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is contemplating ending his run to form an alliance with Republican rival Donald Trump. This revelation came from Kennedy's running mate, Nicole Shanahan, during an interview posted online on Tuesday.
Shanahan stated that as independents, their campaign risks dividing support from Trump’s base, potentially handing Democrats Kamala Harris and Tim Walz a victory in the November election. She suggested that merging with Trump might be a more strategic move. However, a decision has yet to be made.
In discussions with CNN, Trump mentioned he would consider a role for Kennedy in his administration if the independent candidate exits the race and backs him. In a statement issued on X, Kennedy remained open to dialogue with leaders from any political spectrum to advance his long-term goals.
