White House national security spokesperson John Kirby informed reporters that discussions will continue, featuring CIA Director Bill Burns and U.S. Middle East envoy Brett McGurk. He stressed the importance of Hamas militants' participation in the negotiations, which had contextually involved Israel, the United States, Egypt, and Qatar on Thursday, but not Hamas.

"We're in Cairo. They're in Cairo. We need Hamas to participate, and we need to lock in these details. That's our focus for the coming days over the weekend," Kirby stated. He added that early signs indicate the discussions were productive, despite some media suggesting otherwise.
