In a fierce critique of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress MP Imran Masood accused the ruling party of undermining the country's law and order and selectively enforcing rules with bulldozers. Masood urged the Supreme Court to intervene, asserting that India should be governed by clear regulations. He stressed, "The country can witness the deteriorated future of our youth and farmers. The law and order system is in shambles due to selective implementation by bulldozer usage. The Supreme Court must proactively address these incidents to uphold rule and order," Masood stated on Sunday.

Masood also targeted the BJP in light of upcoming state assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana. He questioned the BJP's concern over Congress' alliances, accusing them of misleading people about Article 370. "Why is the BJP worried about our alliances? We don't need their approval. BJP has done nothing substantial for Kashmiri Pandits despite their promises. They will face defeat in both Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir elections," he remarked. The Congress-National Conference (NC) alliance was officially announced by NC patron Farooq Abdullah in Srinagar.

This announcement followed discussions between Abdullah, his son Omar, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, and Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi. The Congress and NC previously allied for the Lok Sabha elections, where NC won two seats in Anantnag and Srinagar, while Congress secured none. Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir are scheduled for three phases on September 18, 25, and October 1, with results expected on October 4. The Election Commission released the first phase's notification for 24 seats, marking the first assembly poll post Article 370 abrogation.
