Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is poised to contest the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections, with speculation he may vie for two seats. State BJP President Mohan Lal Badoli confirmed on Friday that Saini would contest from Ladwa in Kurukshetra.
Despite the acknowledgment from Badoli, Saini remained non-committal about his plans, hinting he might run from Karnal as well. He told reporters during a roadshow in Karnal, 'I will contest the election from Karnal also, why are you worried?' but dodged questions about contesting from two constituencies.
The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is expected to finalize and release its candidate list for the October 1 polls by Sunday. The Central Election Committee in Delhi recently convened to finalize the line-up. Badoli indicated he wouldn't stand for re-election and dismissed any alliance talks, asserting that the BJP aims to secure a clear majority for a third consecutive term.
