BJD President Naveen Patnaik has accused the BJP of misleading the people of Odisha with false promises to capture power in the state. Speaking at the launch of the party’s annual “Jan Sampark Yatra” in the state capital, Patnaik urged the public to question whether the BJP has delivered on its electoral promises, such as free electricity and social security pensions.

The former chief minister cited rising prices and safety concerns, including a recent alleged sexual assault at a police station, as evidence of the BJP’s failure. Patnaik also mentioned an incident involving the Odisha Governor’s son as an example of government dysfunction.

In response, BJP spokesperson Manoj Mohapatra dismissed Patnaik’s charges. He claimed the BJP has fulfilled its promises and accused the previous BJD government of corruption and incompetence. Patnaik reaffirmed his commitment to serve Odisha, emphasizing the BJD's track record in development and poverty reduction.
