BJP Secures Record 29 Seats in Jammu and Kashmir as Raina Accepts Defeat

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a record victory in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections by winning 29 seats, the highest in its history. However, the party's state president, Ravinder Raina, conceded defeat in the Nowshera constituency to National Conference's Surinder Choudhary.
In the Nowshera assembly seat, Raina, who managed to secure 27,250 votes, was defeated by a margin of 7,819 votes. Choudhary garnered 35,069 votes, according to the Election Commission's data. Despite his loss, Raina acknowledged the people's decision and thanked them for supporting the BJP.
While lamenting the party's loss in Nowshera, Raina highlighted the BJP's landmark achievement of obtaining a majority in the state and expressed his gratitude to the electorate. He also recounted his political journey, serving as an MLA from Nowshera at 37 and as BJP's state president at 41.
