Congress Challenges Haryana Election Results, Alleges Irregularities

The Congress party has rejected the Haryana assembly election results, where the BJP is set for a third consecutive term, citing unexpected and counter-intuitive outcomes. Alleging irregularities in the counting process, Congress plans to approach the Election Commission with serious complaints, while BJP attributes its success to good governance.

The Congress party on Tuesday voiced strong objections to the Haryana assembly election results that favor a BJP victory, claiming the outcome was unforeseen, counter-intuitive, and contrary to ground realities. Party leaders Jairam Ramesh and Pawan Khera announced their intent to escalate the matter to the Election Commission amid serious complaints about counting irregularities.

Despite exit poll predictions favoring Congress, the BJP is poised to win 48 seats against Congress's 37, marking a third successive term. Jairam Ramesh characterized the results as manipulation and a blow to transparent democratic processes, citing malfunctioning EVMs in some districts.

In contrast, BJP leaders credited their victory to a decade of effective governance, with Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini expressing gratitude to the voters. Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar attributed the win to the influence of PM Modi's policies, highlighting areas where BJP surpassed Congress efforts.
