India Dismisses Canada's Diplomatic Allegations

India has firmly rejected Canada's allegations linking its High Commissioner to an investigation into the killing of Sikh separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. The Ministry of External Affairs emphasized that these claims are politically motivated. Allegations have strained Indo-Canadian relations, with India asserting its right to respond.

India has emphatically dismissed as baseless Canada's suggestion implicating its High Commissioner in Ottawa with the inquiry into the alleged killing of Sikh separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

The Ministry of External Affairs stated that it received a diplomatic note from Canada indicating that India's High Commissioner and other diplomats were 'persons of interest' in the matter. India has condemned the accusations as politically driven by the Trudeau administration.

The MEA noted that, since September 2023, Canada's government has failed to provide any evidence backing its claims, straining relations between the two countries.
