Confident of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) securing a majority in the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections, senior Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan emphasized the alliance's tradition of the largest party appointing the chief minister. He dismissed concerns over Congress' recent Haryana loss, labeling it as BJP's propaganda.
Chavan highlighted the distinctive social dynamics between Haryana and Maharashtra and assured that intra-alliance conflicts are minimal. The MVA has promised key guarantees including monthly allowances for women and unemployed youth, loan waivers for farmers, and health insurance as part of their campaign strategy.
Polling for the 288-member Maharashtra Assembly is set for November 20, with the opposition MVA comprising Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP (SP) facing off against the Mahayuti alliance, which includes the BJP. Leaders are preparing as they address issues like unemployment, inflation, and corruption.
