Polish President Calls for Calm Amid Trump-Zelenskiy Tension
Polish President Andrzej Duda urged Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelenskiy to maintain calm and cooperative relations with Donald Trump. This comes after Trump labeled Zelenskiy a 'dictator' and warned him about peace with Russia. Zelenskiy highlighted the importance of U.S. support for lasting peace.
In a move aimed at easing international tensions, Polish President Andrzej Duda has advised Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to maintain calm and constructive relations with Donald Trump. This advice follows critical remarks by the former U.S. President, who called Zelenskiy a 'dictator' and warned of potential risks if peace with Russia isn't pursued seriously.
Duda, an ally of Trump during the latter's presidency, emphasized his belief in Trump's commitment to global stability and peace. The Polish leader's statement on social media reflects an effort to mediate the growing feud, which has stirred concern among European leaders.
While Zelenskiy initially dismissed Trump's comments as being from a 'disinformation bubble', he later softened his stance. The Ukrainian leader, in discussions with Duda, stressed the critical role of U.S. backing for Ukraine, asserting that enduring peace is only attainable through strong international unity.
