In a sharp critique at a public meeting in Thoothukudi, BJP State Vice President and Tirunelveli MLA Nainar Nagendran took aim at the DMK government over its policies on the Hindi language and the National Education Policy (NEP). He expressed concerns about escalating sexual crimes and widespread drug abuse in Tamil Nadu.
Addressing local businessmen, Nagendran, along with Nagercoil MLA M.R. Gandhi, dissected the Union Budget, questioning the apparent contradictions in DMK's stance on Hindi. He emphasized, 'While DMK leaders claim opposition to Hindi, they simultaneously introduce it in their schools. Similarly, they criticize the study of Ramayana in temple teachings.'
Nagendran questioned the Tamil Nadu government's reliance on NEP funds, asking, 'Why seek NEP funds if you're already funded through alternate sources?' Meanwhile, DMK MP A Raja clashed with Prime Minister Modi over language remarks, accusing the PM of sowing division, while Nagendran pressed for urgent action on the state's rising crime rates.
