AAP Challenges BJP Over Ambedkar's Legacy in Gujarat Assembly

Senior AAP leader Atishi accused the BJP of sidelining BR Ambedkar's legacy by replacing his portraits with PM Narendra Modi's in key government offices. This sparked protests and led to the suspension of 12 AAP MLAs in the Delhi Assembly for opposing the BJP's motives.

In a fiery accusation, Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Atishi, and senior AAP figure, took a strong stance against the BJP for allegedly sidelining the legacy of BR Ambedkar. Atishi charged that the BJP is replacing Ambedkar's portraits with those of Prime Minister Narendra Modi across prominent government offices.

Following her suspension from the Assembly, Atishi questioned the BJP's intentions, suggesting they view PM Modi as superior to Ambedkar. She accused the party of not facing consequences, unlike AAP MLAs who were suspended for advocating Ambedkar's values, a move she termed as disrespectful towards Ambedkar's monumental contributions.

The tensions escalated within the Assembly, leading to the suspension of 12 AAP MLAs amid protests. As chaos erupted, slogans in support of Ambedkar were raised, and AAP members were suspended. The party vowed to continue its protest until Ambedkar receives the respect and acknowledgment they claim he deserves.
