A case of negligence has been registered by the police in Bhopal against Chandrashekhar Tiwari, associated with a Hindutva outfit, following the collapse of a stage constructed for a Congress event. The incident resulted in injuries to several leaders, including some severe cases.
The complaint was filed by Dharmendra Singh Chouhan, head of the Madhya Pradesh Congress farmers' wing. He accused Tiwari of deliberately erecting an unstable stage. Tiwari, the convenor of Sanskriti Bachao Manch, contends he declined the project but later delegated it to other contractors upon Chouhan's insistence.
Following the mishap, more than ten Congress leaders were hurt during the protest against the state government's 'anti-farmer' policies. Police stated that a comprehensive investigation is ongoing. Tiwari attributed the collapse to exceeding the specified number of attendees on the stage.
