Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently intensified his attacks on the Congress, referring to Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi as a 'namuna' or specimen. Adityanath alleged that the Congress has historically aimed to keep controversies alive, particularly in sensitive areas like Ayodhya, while questioning their contributions during their decades-long rule.
In response, Congress MP K Suresh stated that retaliating to such rhetoric was unnecessary. Instead, he critiqued the current administration's handling of law and order in Uttar Pradesh, citing unfulfilled promises of compensation to victims of the Mahakumbh stampede as evidence of systemic failures under Adityanath's leadership.
Adityanath further labeled Gandhi's 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' as a 'Bharat Todo Abhiyan,' suggesting divisive intentions behind the initiative. Despite the criticisms, Rahul Gandhi's extensive 3,970 km journey across India, intended to unify the nation, captured public attention over its 130-day course, traversing 12 states and two Union territories.
