US-Greenland Diplomatic Trope: A Change in Plans
Denmark's foreign minister welcomed a U.S. decision to adjust a visit to Greenland, alleviating a diplomatic tension. Originally, Usha Vance, wife of the U.S. Vice President, was to attend a dog-sled race. Instead, Vice President JD Vance himself will visit the U.S. Space Base at Pituffik.

The U.S. has altered its plans for a visit to Greenland, resolving a diplomatic tiff between Denmark and President Trump's administration. The initial itinerary, which included a stop at a popular dog-sled race, was changed after concerns were raised in Copenhagen.
The visit, initially to be led by Usha Vance, wife of U.S. Vice President JD Vance, was criticized by Denmark's prime minister as 'unacceptable pressure' on the semi-autonomous territory. The White House revised the plan, assigning JD Vance to instead visit the U.S. Space Base at Pituffik in northern Greenland.
Denmark's Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen expressed approval of the change, stating on national broadcaster DR that the decision to limit the visit to the U.S. base was positive and avoided tensions within Greenlandic society.
