A BJP leader, identified as Anil Tiger, was tragically shot and killed in Ranchi on Wednesday, according to local police reports.
The murder of Tiger, who was BJP's Ranchi rural district general secretary, prompted outrage and a demand for action from political leaders and citizens alike.
In response to the killing, the BJP and AJSU Party called for a citywide bandh to highlight concerns over the state's worsening law and order situation. BJP state president, Babulal Marandi, has publicly demanded the resignation of Jharkhand's Chief Minister, Hemant Soren, as tensions escalate.
