The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) faces backlash after Madhya Pradesh Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah made controversial remarks against Colonel Sofiya Qureshi. BJP leader and Uttar Pradesh Women's Commission Vice Chairperson, Aparna Yadav, termed Shah's comments as 'regrettable' and urged him to apologize for his statement.

The incident occurred when Shah, addressing an event, commented on Colonel Qureshi's media briefing during Operation Sindoor. His remarks, perceived as disrespectful, quickly drew widespread criticism, leading to his apology. Shah admitted his error in a heartfelt statement, acknowledging his human fallibility and expressing regret multiple times.

Amid the uproar, Madhya Pradesh BJP president VD Sharma reassured the public of the party's sensitivity towards such issues. Sharma highlighted the party's commitment to respecting national figures like Colonel Qureshi, whom he described as the 'daughter of the country'. He stressed that immediate action was taken to address the issue.
