Odisha Prepares for PM Modi's Visit with Half-Day Holiday

The Odisha government has declared a half-day holiday for state offices and courts in Bhubaneswar due to potential traffic congestion during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit. Modi will attend the BJP government's first-anniversary celebration led by Mohan Charan Majhi, launching Rs 19,000 crore development projects.

The Odisha government has announced a half-day holiday on June 20 for all state-run offices and courts within Bhubaneswar due to anticipated traffic congestion during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit. Modi will mark the first year of the BJP government led by Mohan Charan Majhi.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, accompanied by senior BJP leaders and officials, inspected the preparations at Janata Maidan, where the anniversary celebration will be held. The event is expected to draw around two lakh attendees, with Modi launching development projects worth Rs 19,000 crore.

Ahead of Modi's arrival, the Commissioner of Police assured ample security for the gathering. The prime minister is scheduled to reach Bhubaneswar at 3.40 pm, participate in a roadshow and 'Tiranga Yatra', and attend the programme from 4.15 pm to 5.30 pm before departing the city.
