Tensions escalated on the world stage as Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping jointly condemned Israel for its recent military actions against Iran. In a telephone conversation, the leaders criticized the strikes, highlighting violations of international law, and called for de-escalation.

Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov emphasized that both Moscow and Beijing oppose a military resolution, advocating instead for political and diplomatic avenues to address the situation, particularly concerning Iran's nuclear program. Xi Jinping suggested that influential global powers should enhance diplomatic efforts to defuse the crisis.

Putin, who has been in discussions with global leaders including U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, suggested Russia's willingness to mediate. Despite this offer, no parties have yet engaged Russia's mediation. Meanwhile, China continues its economic support for Iran, buying significant quantities of Iranian crude oil, despite U.S. sanctions.
