Deadly overnight attacks by Russian drones and missiles have claimed at least 10 civilian lives in Ukraine, with a majority of casualties recorded in the capital, Kyiv. Local officials confirmed seven deaths as emergency crews worked to rescue survivors believed trapped beneath fallen apartment structures.
The Ukrainian air force reported that 352 drones and decoys, 11 ballistic missiles, and five cruise missiles were deployed by Russia. Ukraine's defensive efforts intercepted or jammed 339 drones and 15 missiles. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has pointed to the involvement of North Korean missiles in these attacks, accusing a tactical coalition between Russia, North Korea, and Iran, which provides drones to Russia.
Amidst the devastation in Kyiv, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy prepared for meetings in the UK focused on enhancing Ukraine's defense. Meanwhile, global condemnation followed suit, with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot condemning Russia's actions as 'unlimited cruelty' and promising further European sanctions.
