Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed concern over Pahalgam-style attacks on Monday, stressing that such incidents undermine the support for dialogue with Pakistan. He called on Pakistan to share the responsibility of creating a suitable atmosphere for talks with India, underscoring that it should not fall solely on India.
Abdullah's comments came in response to PDP President Mehbooba Mufti's renewed calls for dialogue. He pinpointed the need for Pakistan's active role in fostering an environment conducive to successful discussions, stating that it would not only initiate talks but also ensure their productive outcomes.
The Chief Minister also addressed the aftermath of Pahalgam's security situation. The recent elimination of three terrorists in Srinagar, including suspects from the Pahalgam attack, was acknowledged as positive news, yet the identity confirmation is awaited. Parliamentary discussions also focus on the attack and the subsequent Operation Sindoor, aimed at re-establishing peace in the region.
