Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has launched a scathing critique on the Congress party, accusing them of disrespecting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's late mother and undermining the nation's sentiments. Shinde alleges that the Congress is deeply rooted in corruption, adhering to a 'corruption first' ideology.
Addressing the media, Shinde stated, 'By disrespecting PM Modi's late mother, they disrespect all mothers in the nation. This nation will not tolerate such disrespect.' He further criticized the Congress for historical corruption scandals before 2014, contrasting it with PM Modi's 'nation first' policy.
The backlash ensued after an AI-generated video by the Bihar Congress, allegedly depicting PM Modi's late mother criticizing his politics, went viral. The BJP condemned the video, demanding strict action. This incident joins previous controversies, including abusive remarks during a Congress-led event in Bihar.
Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat called for strict penalties over the video's release. A formal FIR has been lodged against Congress leaders, following a complaint by Sanket Gupta, Convenor of BJP Delhi Election Cell. The video, seen as a violation of legal and ethical standards, was shared on INC Bihar's social media.
