As the RSS marks its centenary, Maharashtra Congress chief Harshwardhan Sapkal has called for the organization to abandon its 'divisive ideology' and embrace constitutional principles of equality and fraternity. Speaking at a press conference, Sapkal criticized the RSS's past disregard for the national tricolour and its adherence to M S Golwalkar's 'Bunch of Thoughts'.
Sapkal accused Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis of acting as a 'broker' for the Election Commission, amidst allegations of electoral misconduct in Maharashtra's Rajura constituency. He emphasized the need for the RSS to adopt constitutional values, marking a symbolic gesture on Gandhi Jayanti.
To underline these issues, Congress plans to organize a 'Constitution Satyagraha Yatra', spearheaded by Tushar Gandhi, from September 28 to October 2, starting in Nagpur and ending in Wardha. The initiative aims to present the RSS with a copy of the Indian Constitution, reinforcing the Congress's call for ideological change.
