The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday reiterated its allegations of 'vote theft' in the Delhi assembly elections, accusing the Election Commission of covering up irregularities and withholding crucial information regarding voter deletions.
These claims resonate with similar accusations made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who pointed fingers at Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar for allegedly safeguarding those behind what he described as 'vote theft' in Karnataka, asserting that party voters' names were systematically erased from the electoral rolls.
Rejecting the allegations, the Election Commission emphasized that any deletion of votes adheres to due process. It issued a detailed response, refuting the accusations as 'incorrect and baseless,' amid a mounting political storm around the transparency of electoral processes.
