The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) launched statewide protests on Monday to highlight the rampant issue of spurious liquor sales in Andhra Pradesh, condemning the alleged corruption under the Telugu Desam Party (TDP)-led government.
Former Rajahmundry MP Margani Barath accused Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of transforming the state into a hub for the liquor mafia, claiming that small-scale factories were producing fake alcohol.
Despite the mounting pressure from the opposition for a Central Bureau of Investigation probe and immediate enforcement action, the TDP government has yet to issue a response to these grave allegations.
