Union Minister Jitendra Singh announced on Monday that the BJP intends to adhere to fair play during the Rajya Sabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Singh urged MLAs to vote according to their conscience to support BJP candidates, underlining the party's dedication to democratic principles.
In a significant move, Singh accompanied the three BJP nominations—Sat Sharma, Ali Mohammad Mir, and Rakesh Mahajan—for the forthcoming polls. He expressed confidence that experienced leaders committed to public welfare would garner MLA support, emphasizing the lack of a voting whip.
Singh praised Prime Minister Modi's ongoing prioritization of Jammu and Kashmir since 2014, noting the importance of bolstering BJP's Rajya Sabha presence to advocate for the region. The minister reiterated Modi's continued commitment, citing his first Diwali as PM in the union territory post-2014 floods as pivotal.
