Former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday signaled potential political upheaval in Karnataka. Speaking in Haveri, Bommai hinted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) might consider moving a no-confidence motion in the state assembly, contingent on ongoing discord within the ruling Congress party.
The internal strife between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar continues to escalate, despite attempts by Congress's central leadership to mediate with new proposals. Bommai projected that a 'dark horse' might surface as a consequence of the leadership struggle, further destabilizing the state's political landscape.
Highlighting a series of administrative failures, Bommai criticized the stalled development projects and the neglected farming community. He rebuffed accusations from Congress regarding BJP's alleged involvement in horse trading, citing historical instances of Congress's role in similar activities. The looming question remains: will the BJP move a no-confidence motion in the December legislative session?
