The political landscape in Himachal Pradesh has witnessed a positive shift with an increase in the women voter gender ratio from 981 to 983. This development underscores a significant rise in women's political participation across various constituencies, according to Chief Electoral Officer Nandita Gupta.
The recent publication of the Photo Electoral Rolls-2025 reflects concerted efforts through targeted awareness campaigns aimed at constituencies falling below the average gender ratio. Consequently, 16 Assembly Constituencies reported marked improvements, with Bharmaur leading the surge from a ratio of 930 to 948.
Chief Electoral Officer Gupta also engaged with women in Shillai subdivision's panchayats to promote voter registration. The initiative, supported by Booth Level Officers, registered 333 women, highlighting the ongoing efforts to bolster female participation in the democratic process.
