The Shiromani Akali Dal has raised serious allegations against the Aam Aadmi Party, claiming that a large number of its candidates were unfairly denied nominations for the upcoming Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections in Punjab.
The SAD has called for an extension of the nomination deadline in affected areas to ensure a fair election process. Criticizing the State Election Commission for failing to maintain election integrity, SAD leader Daljit Singh Cheema demanded the removal of the Patiala Senior Superintendent of Police.
Cheema's accusations followed a police denial, stating that artificially generated audio was circulating falsely implicating officials. Despite this, the SAD insists on the need for independent observers and punitive actions against officials who allegedly skewed the nomination process.
