In a heated exchange in the Indian Lok Sabha, BJP MP Anurag Thakur accused an unnamed Trinamool Congress member of using a banned e-cigarette within the Parliament premises, provoking strong criticism against the TMC.
The ruling party demanded that the TMC take immediate action against the legislator, questioning whether the party would wait for Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to intervene. Thakur highlighted that the alleged misconduct had persisted for several days.
The BJP's national spokesperson, Shehzad Poonawalla, criticized the TMC for this alleged violation, questioning their commitment to upholding constitutional values. He urged the TMC to respond to these allegations promptly, stating the need to maintain the dignity of the House and set a positive precedent.
