In a significant development, Congress supporters staged a protest outside the BJP's state headquarters, accusing the ruling Centre of misusing the Enforcement Directorate (ED). This protest follows a Delhi court's decision to grant relief to Congress leaders Sonia and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case.
Brandishing party flags, demonstrators demanded a public apology from the BJP-led government. Jharkhand Congress chief, Keshav Mahto Kamlesh, asserted that the court's decision revealed the truth behind the ED's investigation, which he claimed was politically motivated to tarnish the image of the Gandhi family.
Former state Congress president Rajesh Thakur highlighted the court's ruling as evidence of central agencies being misused against opposition leaders. In light of these events, the Congress cancelled a planned nationwide protest against a Bill seeking to replace the MNREGA.
