In a fervent plea during Parliament's session on Tuesday, Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) representatives reiterated concerns over the deteriorating law and order situation in Andhra Pradesh, urging the central government to take action. YSRCP MP Golla Babu Rao highlighted the state's escalating violence and called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to address the lawlessness, which includes attacks on political opponents and incidents of arson.

The party also raised issues concerning the Polavaram project, describing the current allocation of Rs 3,320 crore as insufficient and advocating for increasing the height to 45 meters. Public opposition to the privatization of medical colleges was underscored by one crore signatures, with YSRCP accusing the coalition government of handing these institutions to private parties despite Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's efforts to establish 17 medical colleges in the state. Additionally, concerns about the unresolved status of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant were voiced, citing a lack of allocated captive mines compared to the private sector's benefits.

Meanwhile, parliamentary proceedings saw disruption as eight opposition members faced suspension for disorderly conduct amid heated debates over Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's comments on the 2020 India-China standoff. The government restricted Gandhi from referencing an unpublished memoir regarding the standoff, sparking further outrage and leading to suspensions, including Congress and CPI(M) MPs. (ANI)
