In a recent political skirmish, the Congress party has sharply criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi's interview with the Press Trust of India, describing it as a 'scripted and desperate PR exercise.'
According to Jairam Ramesh, Congress General Secretary in charge of communications, the interview was a tactic by Modi to manage headlines amid backlash over a trade deal with the United States.
Asserting that the current year's Budget lacked substance and left investors unimpressed, the Congress has accused Modi of attempting to deflect attention from controversial issues, including his perceived betrayal of farmers. Modi, in contrast, defended the government's efforts, citing preparation and inspiration as drivers behind the Budget's vision for India's development.
