South Korean President Lee Jae Myung has urged U.S. lawmakers to reform visa policies for Korean workers, following last year's incidents involving detentions at Hyundai Motor's facility in Georgia, the presidential Blue House announced on Thursday.

During a meeting with a bipartisan delegation of U.S. senators in Seoul, President Lee highlighted the importance of stable residency conditions for Korean workers to ensure the successful execution of South Korea's investment strategies in the United States.

Lee also implored U.S. Congress to back the 'Partner with Korea Act', a proposed legislation for new work visas, amid growing bilateral economic cooperation. U.S. lawmakers acknowledged the concerns and committed to closely monitoring Korean worker visa issues, according to the Blue House.
