West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has accused central forces of attempting to search her vehicle while she was en route to the Kolkata airport. This incident follows the TMC's complaints of its leaders, particularly Abhishek Banerjee, being subjected to 'intrusive checks' during the election process.
Addressing a rally in Uttar Dinajpur, Banerjee challenged the forces, stating, 'If you have the guts, you check my car every day.' The TMC alleges these checks are based on 'targeted instructions' from the Election Commission, pointing out a pattern of selective enforcement against their party.
The Election Commission has yet to respond to these accusations. West Bengal's assembly elections, involving 294 seats, are scheduled to take place in two phases on April 23 and 29, with the vote count slated for May 4.
