Senior TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee has accused BJP supporters of assaulting a TMC woman worker in the presence of her young daughter in West Bengal's Paschim Medinipur district. Banerjee hopes the Election Commission will take swift action against those involved in the 'heinous attack.'
While one individual has been arrested, Banerjee insists that all those named in the FIR be held accountable. He further alleges that former CPI(M) workers involved in the attack have now joined the BJP. Promising justice after the election results on May 4, he vows that those not apprehended will be taken to the victim's residence to apologize.
Banerjee challenges Union Home Minister Amit Shah's remarks warning TMC supporters, asserting that Shah should observe TMC's anticipated victory celebration in Kolkata. Criticizing BJP leaders for allegedly mocking Bengali culture, Banerjee underscores his intentions for a mix of cultural and modern festivities and stresses his opposition to BJP's alleged voter bribery.
