In a recent press briefing, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge addressed rising speculation regarding a possible leadership shift in Karnataka. Kharge noted that no date has been set for such discussions, underscoring the party's approach to collective decision-making alongside Sonia and Rahul Gandhi.
Amid rumors, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his deputy, D K Shivakumar, have pledged to adhere to the party's final decisions. The Congress leadership insists that all measures will consider the best interests of the state and be unanimously supported.
Despite persistent talks of a power transition when the Congress government reaches its halfway mark in November 2025, Kharge reaffirmed that there is no current timeline for a leadership change. Both Shivakumar's assurances and Siddaramaiah's commitment to a full term suggest unity within the party ranks.
