Akhilesh Yadav Critiques BJP's West Bengal Win

In a critical statement, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav addressed the BJP's recent success in the West Bengal Assembly elections, claiming the results were decided arbitrarily. He posted this view on X platform, a day after results showed the BJP poised to form its inaugural state government.
Yadav conjectured that the method for selecting West Bengal's Chief Minister would reflect BJP's alleged arbitrary approach. He proposed that a woman, emblematic of traditional patriarchal views, should be considered for the role, drawing on discussions about women's representation in politics.
Yadav's comments came in light of the Trinamool Congress, under Mamata Banerjee—whom he supported—losing power, thereby allowing BJP to establish its first government in the state.
