Vijay's Leadership Signals New Era for TVK

The TVK headquarters in Panaiyur resonated with celebratory whistles and slogans as members embraced the election of Vijay as their legislative leader. The official focus was on selecting a floor leader, yet conversations quickly shifted to aspirations of grassroots service and moving away from Dravidian political traditions.
TVK leader Arunraj IRS spoke to the press, emphasizing that this victory is seen as a responsibility, not a conquest. He echoed Vijay's sentiments about serving the people, particularly those at the grassroots level. This inclusive approach is evident as 70 Dalit and several Muslim representatives are among the 108 newly elected MLAs.
Reflecting a mood of defiance towards established politics, candidates like M Ravishankar of Thuraiyur challenge past administrations, pointing to unmet promises such as basic sanitation. Despite the uncertain legislative numbers to form a government, TVK members exude confidence, with the belief that public trust is strengthening their cause.
