In an effort to highlight electoral integrity in West Bengal's Bhabanipur, Senior BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari applauded the Election Commission and security forces for ensuring that voting took place largely without incident. Addressing reporters after a meeting with the chief electoral officer, Adhikari credited these agencies for allowing 45 housing complexes to vote freely for the first time in 15 years.

Adhikari accused the Trinamool Congress of previously hindering voter rights through intimidation, noting that entrances to housing complexes had been locked in prior elections to deter voting. This year, however, authorities set up polling booths inside 20 complexes, allowing thousands of residents to cast their votes unimpeded.

In response to outgoing chief minister Mamata Banerjee's claims of election improprieties, Adhikari dismissed them as irrelevant, calling for higher government intervention. He acknowledged isolated reports of violence against TMC workers but claimed incidents had reduced compared to past elections.
