The BJP's national general secretary, Tarun Chugh, issued a legal defamation notice to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday. This was in response to Mann's claims connecting the BJP to the recent blasts in Jalandhar and Amritsar.
The explosions near security installations have heightened tensions across the state, drawing severe criticism from opposition parties. Chugh has demanded that Mann either present evidence of his allegations or step down from his position, suggesting the motives behind the accusations are politically driven.
The defamation notice further requires Mann to retract his statements and issue a public apology. Chugh emphasized that such accusations imperil Punjab's national security and are an insult to the faith vested in the BJP by the Indian populace.
