Kerala stands on the brink of political clarity as it anticipates the announcement of its new Chief Minister. More than a week after the assembly election results, the Congress party is ready to declare its legislature leader.
The Congress Legislature Party is scheduled to meet at 1 p.m. on May 14 at the KPCC headquarters. The announcement follows extensive discussions within the party, with Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh conferring the finalized decision after meetings with party stalwarts like Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge.
Despite public discomfort over the delay, senior leaders assure that a democratic process is underway. Veteran leader K Muraleedharan expressed confidence that the concerns would dissipate with the formation of the new government. The Congress-led UDF's significant victory has been overshadowed by internal lobbying and protests, highlighting the stakes for leadership within the party.
