The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), buoyed by its recent electoral success in Kerala, has announced a new 13-point political strategy to further cement its presence in the state. Centered around strengthening ties with Hindu backward communities, particularly the significant Ezhava community, the agenda underscores a strategic recalibration in the party's approach.

Despite previous outreach efforts to Christian minorities, the BJP is shifting its focus, partly due to political tensions following the Catholic Church’s opposition to the FCRA Amendment Bill. Party insiders suggest this change is informed by the necessity to fortify existing support bases rather than pursuing precarious minority alliances.

The BJP aims to abolish practices it views as 'appeasement', particularly concerning reservations. By advocating for the reservation rights of SC, ST, and OBC communities only, the party seeks to deter religion-based allocations. This initiative is coupled with a call for legal scrutiny over alleged temple asset mismanagement, indicating a sustained focus on Hindutva principles and cultural mobilization.
