In Thane, Congress activists staged a protest against the increasing prices of fuel and domestic gas. By pulling vehicles with ropes from various petrol stations, they aimed to highlight the economic pressures affecting ordinary citizens.

Participants tied ropes to the vehicles and themselves, dragging cars and motorcycles across three petrol pumps, while chanting slogans critical of both the Central and state governments. Thane city district Congress president, Rahul Pingle, accused the Union government of implementing flawed economic policies that have led to inflation.
