In West Bengal's Hooghly district, TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee claimed he suffered a head injury following an alleged attack by BJP supporters. The incident occurred outside a police station where Banerjee went to submit a memorandum protesting the arrest of TMC workers after the Assembly elections.
Leading the party's response, Mamata Banerjee, TMC's chief, plans to visit Kalyan Banerjee and condemned the attack, accusing BJP of undermining democracy. BJP rejected these allegations, claiming local discontent directed at TMC leaders as the cause. Ensuing tensions increased police presence to thwart further disturbances.
