In a recent statement, West Bengal BJP leader Agnimitra Paul condemned the attack on Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee, asserting that the BJP does not support such actions. Paul drew attention to similar past assaults on BJP leaders, including JP Nadda, to underline alleged hypocrisy in reactions. During a visit to Sonarpur, Abhishek Banerjee faced an aggressive crowd hurling stones and eggs; he was rescued by police intervention.
