Russian President Vladimir Putin has indicated Russia's willingness to make concessions in a peace deal over Ukraine, provided Ukraine reciprocates. The announcement came during a discussion with senior editors, including those from Reuters, in St Petersburg.

Addressing questions about the conflict in Donbas and peace negotiations, Putin stated that controlling Donbas and reaching a peace agreement are not mutually exclusive. He highlighted that Russian forces have already secured over 85% of Donetsk and 80% of Zaporizhzhia.

Putin emphasized that Russia is ready to negotiate peace with Ukraine on terms previously discussed with U.S. President Donald Trump. He stressed the importance of mutual compromises for a swift resolution to the conflict.
