In a press statement on Tuesday, DMK leader and former Tamil Nadu minister Thangam Thennarasu addressed controversies surrounding party president MK Stalin's recent remarks about the state government. Thennarasu emphasized that Stalin's comments, which some claimed predicted the government's downfall in three months, were grossly misrepresented.
Thennarasu clarified that Stalin had committed the DMK to a six-month period without criticizing the newly elected government. However, apparent concerns over a deteriorating law and order situation prompted Stalin to voice doubts publicly about the government's ability to remain stable, though he firmly denied suggesting its imminent collapse.
Highlighting a series of violent incidents since the government took office, Thennarasu stated that growing public dissatisfaction has been palpable, particularly on social media. His intention, Thennarasu noted, was solely to spotlight governance and safety issues, not to advocate for the government's dissolution.
